Dasa is a period in our life. Dasa decides the growth or downfall of a person. Major changes in our life occur when there is a change in our dasa. Each Dasa is ruled by a particular planet and this planet is called Dasa Lord. The dasa is named after dasa lord viz. Ketu dasa, Venus dasa, Sun dasa etc. Favourable planet dasas will give good results in their dasa period.
Each lagna has favourable and unfavourable planets. It is not correct to say that, Venus dasa gives good results to all. Venus dasa gives enormous growth to a person and at the same time it will give problems to another person. A person will get enormous growth in Saturn, Rahu, Mars and Sun dasas also. It is better to know the favourable and unfavourable dasa periods for each lagna native before coming to a conclusion. Vimshottari Dasa system is widely followed in India. Our span of life is taken as 120 years and it is divided according to the following dasa periods.

All our efforts will be fruitful in favourable dasa periods with less pain. In unfavourable dasa periods, it is necessary to put lot of efforts to reach our goals. We may face more challenges in unfavourable periods. Our sheer hard work and “Will power” will give us the desired results.
The above given dasa periods i.e favourable or unfavourable for each lagna are in general and will vary according to the strength of the horoscope. While judging the dasa, good or bad, we should consider the strength of the Lagna, placement of the planet, Aspect on the planet, conjunction of planet and Transit of planets. Some people may get good results in unfavourable dasa periods, due to their Lagna strength, transit effect and beneficial aspect.
So we conclude that, Dasa controls our life, where changes are inevitable.
