In Part 1, we followed the below steps in reading the Horoscope.
- Find out the Ascendant / Lagna in the Horoscope (Ascendant / Lagna is denoted by As or Lag. in the Chart) Lagna / Ascendant is the First House in the Rasi Chart.
- Find out the Moon's position in the Rasi house
- Find out the Planets placed in each rasi and in each house
The below Rasi Chart shows the Rasi and Nakshatras (stars) and its padas in detail. The Rasis and Nakshatras are fixed.
Each Rasi contains 3 Nakshatras
Each Nakshatra (star) has 4 padas i.e. 27 nakshatras x 4 padas = 108 padas
Each Rasi contains 9 padas i.e. 12 rasis x 9 padas = 108 padas)
In Part 2, we will further go deeply into reading the chart along with Navamsa.
The below steps are followed in continuation to the above steps (part 1 steps).
4. Placement of Planets in which Nakshatra (star) and in which pada
Let us study the same Rasi Chart (as explained in Part 1) of the person born on 12th Nov, 2014
Time: 8.15 AM Place: Chennai and find out the Planets and its star.
The table next to Birth chart shows the Planets, its Rasi and its constellation (star).
We can read as below:
Ascendant is placed in Scorpio - Jyeshta Nakshatra, 3rd pada (Scorpio Ascendant)
Sun is placed in Libra - Visakha Nakshatra, 2nd pada
Moon is placed in Gemini - Punarvasu Nakshatra, 3rd pada
likewise, we can read all Planetary placement in the Nakshatra, its pada and Rasi.
5. Placement of Planets in Navamsa Chart
Navamsa is the one ninth part of the rasi. It is also known as D/9 CHART i.e. Ninth division. In reading a Horoscope, we will mainly concentrate on Rasi Chart and Navamsa Chart.
As - Ascendant, Ve - Venus, Sa - Saturn, Ma - Mars, Me - Mercury, Su - Sun, Mo - Moon,
Ju - Jupiter, Ra - Rahu, Ke - Ketu
As is Scorpio and in Navamsa it is Aquarius.
Venus in Scorpio Rasi and in Cancer Navamsa
Mars in Sagittarius and in Virgo Navamsa
etc.....
